Lawman Security And Consulting Provides Training For Life-Saving Procedure

On July 4th, Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Deputy Bryan Bishop had to take serious action when he was dispatched to a single vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on State Road 65. The driver of the motorcycle had been ejected and landed in the roadway. Bishop had to use a tourniquet procedure on the victim’s leg to stop substantial blood loss. Extreme blood loss is one of the most life-threatening potential results of physical injury, and it only takes a few seconds for it to cause irreversible damage, even loss of life. The application of a tourniquet is one of the most effective ways to stop the bleeding and save a life.

Bishop, who is also one of the co-founders of LawMan Security and Consulting, a professional security company based in Evansville, IN, had been trained for this life-threatening situation. LawMan offers this same training for the tourniquet procedure to anyone who might encounter an emergency situation. LawMan’s tourniquet course teaches trainees how to recognize the need for a tourniquet and how to properly apply one using a combat application tourniquet (C.A.T.), the official tourniquet of the U.S. Army.
